Three New Attractions at Hong Kong Disneyland

Given that Jim Hill has posted a few articles on HKDL in the past, I thought readers might be interested to learn about the three new attractions coming at HKDL. I'm sure it has been mentioned here already, but we've posted some of the official press here:

    http://www.hkdlsource.com/news/viewstory&story=73

It details (surprise, surprise) "it's a small world", along with a new Mickey's WaterWorks parade and an animation academy. Concept photos may be seen here:

    and construction photos here:

While this may seem like a bit of a shameless plug for our site, and yes it probably is on some level, we've had such a huge response from these photos and press that we're excited to be sharing it with as many Disney fans as possible.

The exciting thing about this new version of "it's a small world",  is that it will be the first version of the attraction to feature characters from Disney films such as Peter Pan, Aladdin and Mulan, an expanded Asian and Middle Eastern section, as well as a new North American section.

Re: Three New Attractions at Hong Kong Disneyland

Making up for the slow news week last week, we have a special DOUBLE SIZED issue for our last 'This Week' for the year. (Given that next Monday is Christmas and the one after that is New Year's day).

    http://www.hkdlsource.com/news/viewstory&story=77

As we countdown to Christmas, Disney dropped a bombshell on us by announcing no less than three new attractions. We ask what this means for the future of the park, while simultaneously looking back at the year that was. Also, thanks to our resident spy, we have some hints that some major work is also being done in an area other than Fantasyland. Wait no longer - climb aboard the final round-up for the year!

Our vigilant Spy has been working overtime to bring us a great collection of new photos today. We've not only got an EXCLUSIVE look at the land being cleared for possible Adventureland expansion, but we have a new set of shots showing the "it's a small world" construction quite clearly.

    Enjoy!

We've just been sent this exclusive update on "it's a small world". The framework is starting to take place, and you can clearly see the structure of the building now.

Summer is officially here as Mickey's WaterWorks kicks off in style at Hong Kong Disneyland. Our spies have been out taking photos for us, and we have a full gallery of new images of this exciting new parade.

We've been overwhelmed with the enthusiastic response to the new summer attractions at Hong Kong Disneyland. One of our long-time contributors has sent us almost 60 (!) new photos of the Mickey's WaterWorks Parade and the Animation Academy.

Re: Three New Attractions at Hong Kong Disneyland

With the opening of the attraction set for early 2008, perhaps the most famous - and some would argue the most insidious - theme song in Disney's history is laid down with a whole new language cast and set to come at you in surround sound. If you aren't humming it by now, you're one of the lucky ones.

    http://news.hkdlsource.com/story/221

"The all-new soundtracks are unique to Hong Kong Disneyland and it will be our first time using stereo audio effects inside the attraction". With four new languages laid down - Cantonese, Putonghua, Korean and Tagalog (Philippines) - this will mean that you'll hear 10 versions of the song throughout the ride.

Re: Three New Attractions at Hong Kong Disneyland

Here's some more of those photos from the recording session. Children of the world gathered together to preach a universal message of peace and harmony that coincides with the message of the forthcoming attraction, "it's a small world". Or something like that.

The forthcoming 'it's a small world' attraction lit up last night, as the exterior lights were being tested. Our Chief Spy was there to capture the display, and we are pleased to be able to bring you these exclusive photos.

This is looking great.  It will be very interesting to see what impact IASW has on attendance and how well it plays to a primarily Chinese audience.
